Heavyweights

I’ve been wanting to do a blog about some of my favorite men of God.  One of the first guys that came to mind was Keith Green.  He was a real trailblazer as far as worship music goes and he had a real big impact on me growing up (plus he had a sweet fro).  I remember listening to his music in the car with my parents when I was probably seven or eight years old.  He was such a passionate person and his songs have impacted who knows how many people.

Then there’s Leonard Ravenhill.  What a beast!  Listening to his messages will keep you humble and passionate for the things of God.  His book “Why Revival Tarries” is also great.  Check both of these guys out if you get a chance.  They lived incredible lives.

College Football Started Today (well, Tuesday)

NCAA 08 just came out, which officially marks the beginning of the college football season.  Looks like the kids might be making an early exit tonight because daddy’s got some unfinished brizzness with the Nicktator.

Major League Hope

I’m a really big sports fan and I can came across this story about a Major League baseball player named Josh Hamilton.  The guy was the number one pick in the 1999 draft but got addicted to crack.  God set him free and now he’s back playing for the Reds.  He’s got a great story to tell.  Check it out:  http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2926447.

Sleeping Beauty

I’m sure some of you parents out there can feel me on this.  I don’t know what it is, but it just seems like you love your kids more when they’re sleeping.  When they’re awake and putting their feet in the toilets you can’t wait for bedtime so you can get some peace and quiet.  But when they finally go to sleep, you just want to wake them up and tell them how much you love them.  I guess I’ll have to wait until the morning.  Probably right after they feed the fish the other half of the jar of flakes that they gave him last night.

4th of July

These are just a few pictures from the 4th of July. We threw down on some BBQ and popped fireworks with the kids. What more could you ask for?
